You see the message come across your TV screen, “The last day of analog broadcasting is February 17, 2009.” We tend to ignore it and think, “I have lots of time, I just bought a TV a few years ago, it probably won’t affect me.” You may be surprised when you wake up February 17th in your Addison apartment, turn on your TV and see a blank fuzzy screen. Going green seems like a noble cause to be taking on these days. You hear it everywhere “Save energy, save money.” But, how green is going green? If you’re going to do it, you have to go all the way for it to really make a difference.
To go “all the way” you don’t have to buy the latest hybrid or replace all of your appliances with energy efficient models. But, you should try to follow through with your attempts to become greener. Before committing to the cost of going green, you have to take on some responsibility for yourself. Light bulbs, cars and appliances don’t change the world, people do.
